When I began a 6th grade Computer Literacy teacher last year, I didn't find many room decor resources on the web. So, I thought I would take some pictures of my room this year, so this might provide some ideas for another teacher who might need it.

Our school colors are red and black and I tried to use red, black and white and polka dots to bring my theme together.
I have more pictures to come, so visit often!

This is my personal cabinet. Even though our school colors are red and black, somehow our cabinets are more of a salmon color. Go figure! I bought wooded letters and just painted them barn red, then lightly stained black over them. Then, I applied flocked (stick-on) black dots. I found this AWESOME computer monitors fabric on Ebay. It can only be found in the U.K., though.
I really wanted the back of the room to pop, since my room is SO large and the back has a gigantic empty wall. I ordered five 20x30 posters from Allposters.com and came up with this idea for the back wall! I really like how the red rose pops in the center of the black and white posters. Two things here. First of all, I really wanted a rug with a "computer" theme. This was the only one I found that was not cheesy. I really love it, actually. The colors are good for my room and it reinforces many concepts I will be teaching this year! The rug cost $69 and it is about 4 ft x 4 ft square. Secondly, I have so many cables under and around my desk, I really wanted to cover them up this year. I measured my desk before I left on summer break and sewed a desk skirt to fit around three of the sides (the side by the wall didn't need one). I attached it with Velcro and Velcro Table Skirt clips (for 1" table tops). It worked great and I didn't have to attach it permanently).
After a wonderful chat last year with a seasoned teacher (Thank you, Shannon! ), I have decided to put a little "Love and Logic" into my classroom this year. So, I made a couple of these posters to reinforce how things are going to work in my classroom. ;-) Here is a "dot com" board I made last year. I bought a black-framed cork board and covered it with ".com" fabric I bought on E-bay. Then, I just staple up websites that my students might enjoy visiting. This is my agenda board. I have only a small space on my white board to post our weekly agenda, since the projector screen (when down) covers the entire rest of the board. ;-) Anyway, I use this to post what we will be doing every class period. The unit or project objectives are put in another place in the room. I will have photos of that soon. :-)
This is an old dinosaur of a computer a wonderful teacher in our school gave me. It was his dad's and when he passed away last year, he thought I might like it for my classroom. I LOVE it!!!!
Here is a poster I made for my classroom, to remind my kids to do interim saves (I call these "Safety Saves" and I play "Safety Dance" -- that song from the 80s -- to remind them to do it periodically while working).
These are keyboard key flower pots I made. Simple to do. I just used thicker gauged wire and hot-glued old keys onto them. I placed floral foam at the bottom of the pots and covered it with natural moss.
This is to remind my students what keys are part of the "Home Row" on the keyboard . I couldn't find red-topped containers last year, so I used blue. I see now that they do have them in red! I just used "Glad" brand throw-away containers. I made these curtains for my "Hall of Hardware." This is where I keep old computer parts, so my students can take them off the shelves and look at them. Here is the "Hall of Hardware" opened up. :-)
